Checks before restoring a document photo
Decide when to retake a photo and how to review blurred text, reflections and distorted tables.

Keep the complete page in frame
Place the camera parallel to the paper and include all four corners. A cropped corner can cause an incorrect page boundary or missing edge text. Use a background that contrasts with the paper.
Perspective correction cannot fully flatten a curved book or deep fold. Photograph difficult areas separately or use a scanner when text bends into the binding.
Fix reflections before uploading
If glare has turned letters into a white patch, changing brightness cannot recover the missing information. Move the light or camera and inspect the reflected area at a larger size. Avoid shadows from your hand or phone over numbers and tables.
Correction reduces uneven lighting; it does not reconstruct words hidden by an obstruction.
Inspect small characters
Zoom into punctuation, decimal points and brackets before uploading. A large file can still contain motion blur. Prefer the original camera file to a repeatedly compressed messaging attachment.
- Clean the lens and focus on the text.
- Move closer instead of relying on digital zoom.
- Capture each page separately rather than fitting several pages into one photo.
Review the vulnerable parts first
A tidy restored page does not prove that recognition is correct. Compare dates, names, telephone numbers and amounts with the original. Check that columns remain in the correct reading order.
Correct only what you can verify from the source. If the source itself is unreadable, retake it instead of inventing missing text for an important document.
Change the input when correction is not enough
Try a clearer scan or an original digital PDF instead of repeatedly processing the same blurred photo. Current uploads support files up to 20MB and PDFs of up to 20 pages.
